Editorial Review Board

Committed to providing the deepest and most practical compliance insight possible, the Compliance Professionals Forum has leveraged industry connections to assure that content produced for CPF meets the highest of professional standards.

Dedicated to guiding their peers and elevating the ARM industry, 20+ credit and collections veterans have joined CPF’s Editorial Review Board (ERB) to review CPF content for applicability, gaps, and legal issues.*  

Reports/guides, whitepapers, and checklists/tools require review by three Editorial Board members, including one attorney, one compliance professional and one operations professional. Monthly articles require review by one Editorial Board member (who is not the author of the article).

Who is on the Board?

Javier Alvarado - TransUnion

Javier Alvarado is the Senior Director of Product Management and Development for TransUnion’s Collections Solutions division.   In this role, Javier provides thought leadership, formation of business requirements and business input into technology development.  He has earned the designation of Certified Receivables Compliance Professional from DBA International.  Prior to TransUnion, Javier spent 17 years at First Data where he focused on e-commerce and big data business development, process reengineering, strategic planning, and operations.

Rozanne M. Andersen, J.D. - Ontario Systems

Rozanne Andersen’s 30+ years of experience as general counsel, chief lobbyist, executive vice president and CEO of ACA International, as well as a practicing attorney specializing in banking and financial services, have made Rozanne one of the most respected experts in the industry. Rozanne Andersen serves as Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for Ontario Systems, LLC and leads the company's compliance consulting team and supports the innovation of compliance solutions within the Ontario Systems product line.

Wendy Badger - ECMC Group

A national authority on credit and collection compliance, Wendy Badger currently serves as the vice president of corporate compliance and chief compliance officer for ECMC Group, overseeing the corporate and regulatory compliance efforts of the ECMC Group enterprise She was recognized twice as one of the Most Influential Collection Professionals (2007, 2011) and named one of the 25 Most Influential Women in Collections (2016) by Collection Advisor magazine. She was one of the first individuals to achieve ACA’s Credit and Collection Compliance Officer (CCCO) designation and was an inaugural recipient of the Members’ Attorney Program designation (2011).

Tracey Bannochie - DCM Services

Tracey Bannochie brings nearly two decades of call center management experience to the DCM Services team. Her experience includes customer care through late-stage recovery call center operations, in addition to first-party and third-party roles. She has managed multi-location call centers, including new center acquisitions and integration.

John Bedard - Bedard Law Group P.C.

John H. Bedard, Jr. is the managing attorney of Bedard Law Group, P.C. located in Atlanta, Georgia.  John represents creditors, asset buyers, and debt collectors helping them stay in compliance with state and federal law.  He also manages the nationwide litigation for several collection agencies and focuses his litigation practice on FDCPA, TCPA, and FCRA defense.  John’s practice also focuses on defending regulatory actions including CFPB investigations and travels the country performing CFPB readiness assessments for the collection industry. John is also the creator of BLGinsight, the industry’s first completely outsourced speech analytics legal service for the collection industry.

Renee Bogar - Radius Global Solutions Inc.

Renee C Bogar is the Vice President of Compliance and Quality Assurance for Radius Global Solutions with 15 years of overall experience in the call center industry.  She manages Compliance and QA internationally for both first and third party operations throughout the United States, India, Jamaica, and Panama for more than 1200 collectors and agents. Key responsibilities focus on fortifying the company’s sustainability through solid Compliance Management Systems, creation and implementation of policies and procedures, and reinforcement of both through call monitoring and auditing.

Tim Collins - Convergent USA

Tim Collins joined Convergent in 2013 as their General Counsel and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer tasked with leading the Audit, Compliance, IT Security, Legal, and Training Departments. His previous position was Director of Compliance for Hyundai Capital America in charge of designing and implementing HCAs corporate governance and compliance programs. Prior to HCA he was VP of Risk Management and General Counsel for ARS National Services, Inc., where he managed three departments that reduced legal and business exposure in a highly regulated and litigious industry. Before joining ARS National Services, Inc., Tim was Legal Counsel with Midland Credit Management Corporation where he helped establish their litigation outsourcing program. He has over twenty years of experience in the collections industry including firsthand experience in litigating cases. Tim is a Principal of Optimized Legal Solutions, LLC, which provides litigation management and compliance consulting to organizations that want to reduce their regulatory risk and litigation exposure.

Nicole Cummins - Windham Professionals

Nicole Cummins brings over 25 years of creditor and collection agency experience with 15 of those years a Compliance Officer for large global BPO organizations.  Nicole’s area of expertise is developing and implementing Compliance Management Systems and managing federal investigations and exams.

Sarah E. Doerr - Moss & Barnett

Sarah Doerr focuses her practice in the areas of creditors' remedies and bankruptcy. She defends regional and national debt buyers and debt collection agencies in connection with Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) claims. She has experience in commercial and individual bankruptcy matters, where she represents secured and unsecured creditors, as well as debtors.


Thomas R. Dominczyk - Maurice Wutscher

Thomas R. Dominczyk is a principal with Maurice Wutscher. He focuses his practice on various aspects of creditors’ rights law, with an emphasis on consumer financial services litigation. He has successfully represented financial institutions and law firms throughout the country for claims filed under the FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, RESPA, TILA and various state consumer protection statutes. In addition to his litigation practice, Tom represents national, regional and local creditors in a variety of bankruptcy matters ranging from simple claim filing and management to complex non-dischargeability litigation and preference defenses.

Caren Enloe - Smith Debnam

Caren Enloe is a partner with Smith Debnam in Raleigh, NC and leads the firm’s consumer financial services litigation and compliance group. Enloe serves as the Member Attorneys Program State Chair for North Carolina and as a vice chair for the American Bar Association’s Debt Collection and Bankruptcy Subcommittee. She is an active member of ACA International, NARCA, the American Bar Association’s Consumer Financial Services Committee and the North Carolina Creditor’s Bar Association. Enloe blogs and speaks regularly on current trends and issues involving consumer financial services.

Mike Hiller - American Profit Recovery

Mike Hiller is an accomplished leader with over a decade of experience in management and executive management roles. He joined APR in 2005 as an entry level employee and was promoted to a Collection Manager in 2006. While earning his undergraduate degree in Business and Psychology he was involved in Central Michigan University’s Leadership program. Hiller also graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy where he served as a consultant for TEST, Inc., mentor for graduate students, & tutor in advanced statistics.

David Kaminski - Carlson & Messer, LLP

David Kaminski is a partner at Carlson & Messer LLP in Los Angeles, and is nationally renowned for his work in the defense of banks, credit grantors, collection agencies, telecom companies, and mobile marketers in all areas of financial services litigation, including the TCPA, FCRA, FDCPA, EFTA, and related consumer litigation statutes.  David serves as outside compliance counsel to the financial services industry, and has developed training and compliance programs to minimize their risks of liability.  David regularly defends clients in investigations and proceedings initiated by the FCC, FTC, CFPB, and federal and state regulatory agencies. David was appointed the 2013-2015 Chair of the Attorneys Division of the ACA, Int’l. and was the recipient of the 2014 ACA Attorney of the Year award.

Kelly Knepper-Stephens - Stoneleigh Recovery Associates, LLC

Kelly Knepper-Stephens is General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Stoneleigh Recovery Associates, LLC, a debt recovery solutions company.  Her work focuses on government regulation, compliance, and civil litigation; she advises her employer and its clients on the FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, GLBA, HIPAA, and other federal and state regulations.  She is a Debt Buyer Association International Certified Receivables Compliance Professional and has earned the Credit & Collection Compliance Officer designation from the American Collectors Association.  Kelly serves on the Editorial Review Board for the Compliance Professionals Forum.  She also served as a Small Entity Representative (SER) for the Arbitration and Debt Collection Rulemakings.  Collection Advisor Magazine named Kelly one of the Top 25 Women in Collections in 2016.

Jim McCarthy 

Jim McCarthy, the former Senior Product Advisor at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), is the FVP Corporate Compliance for a major mortgage company. At the CFPB, McCarthy was responsible for developing and executing the Company Complaint Portal. He focused on user experience and policy associated with the process of transmitting complaints to companies for their response. McCarthy introduced the complaint process to all banks greater than $10 billion and the Debt Collection, Consumer Reporting, pre-paid, remittance, mortgage and auto loan industries. Before joining the CFPB, McCarthy worked at the FDIC where he worked to close banks during the financial crisis. Before the FDIC, Mr. McCarthy enjoyed a long career in Regional Banking with a focus on Consumer Financial product development, sales, and service. Currently, Jim focuses on the CFPB complaint process from the industry's perspective as well as mortgage originations compliance.

Joann Needleman - Clark Hill PLC 

Joann Needleman, a recognized expert in consumer financial services and collections law, is the leader of the Consumer Financial Services Regulatory & Compliance Practice Group at the law firm Clark Hill PLC, where she is also a partner. Joann sits on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Consumer Advisory Board as the subject matter expert in the field of debt collection and default management. She is the immediate past president of the National Creditors Bar Association.

James Null - Windham Professionals

James Null has been in the collection industry for over 15 years working with employers such as Discover Card Financial, Nationwide Insurance, iQor, Windham Professionals and Alliance Data.  Null has held various positions within Operations, Client Services, Training and Compliance. 

Linda Straub Jones - LexisNexis Risk Solutions

Linda Straub Jones is the Director of Market Planning for Compliance Products with LexisNexis Risk Solutions.  She has over 30 years of experience in the credit/collections industry and has worked as a collector, skip tracer, paralegal, bankruptcy data specialist and compliance data specialist. She writes articles, blogs and whitepapers relating to the credit and collections industry and presents on compliance topics at industry webinars and conferences.  

Sheri Stringer - Account Control Technology, Inc.

Sheri Stringer is responsible for the instruction and initial training of new hires for Account Control Technology, Inc. (ACT) through ACT University, the company’s intensive two-week training program as well as developmental courses for employees at all levels. Sheri continually updates and revises course content and teaching methodologies in order to ensure ACT team members maintain compliance with the latest regulations and to improve the training experience. She also stays up-to-date on trends that may contribute to successful communications between ACT’s staff and consumers. She holds certifications as an ACA Trainer Specialist and in Commercial Collections by the International Association of Commercial Collections.
