The debt collection solution from Latitude Software, an Interactive Intelligence Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ININ) company, has been deployed by Cogeco Cable Inc. to improve its collection operations.

Cogeco Cable, a Canadian-based provider of residential and commercial cable, telephone and Internet services, has cited Latitude software suite’s flexible architecture as a major benefit.

“The Windows-based Latitude software suite easily integrated with our existing billing platform so we could prioritize collections by risk — meaning breaking out delinquent accounts by age, such as 30, 60, and 90 days late,” said Cogeco Cable’s associate director, Robert Masse. “This has resulted in more effective debt recovery.”

Cogeco Cable has also reported benefits associated with Latitude’s ease-of-use and reporting. “The Latitude software suite’s intuitive user interface has significantly cut our training time, and its in-depth reporting has enabled us to drill into data to better pinpoint areas for improvement,” Masse said.

Cogeco Cable uses Latitude Center, the vendor’s core product for managing all pre- and post-charge-off accounts and the entire collection workflow process. It also uses Latitude Center add-on applications to automate account treatment strategies and help plan and execute workflows.

“We’re always looking to improve our processes and effectiveness,” Masse said. “Latitude best supported this mission, both through its flexible software suite and the company’s team of industry veterans. The Latitude team demonstrated in-depth knowledge and responsiveness from the sales cycle through customization and support, which has resulted in a debt collection solution that has surpassed our expectations.”
