Phillips & Cohen Associates (UK) Ltd, one of the UK’s leading specialist debt recovery businesses, is celebrating a double success by being accredited with the Investors in People Health & Well Being Good Practice Award. This follows hot on the heels of the business receiving the Investors in People Gold Award earlier this month, achieving a staggering 187 of the 196 criteria.

The Health & Well Being Good Practice Award is a new initiative introduced by Investors in People to encourage businesses to support employees in coping with increased pressure and demands in the workplace.

Commenting on the awards, Site Director, Nick Cherry said, “Achieving the Investors in People Health & Well Being Good Practice Award and Investors in People Gold Award is fantastic recognition of the investment we make in our people, both in terms of helping them build a rewarding career, but most importantly in encouraging staff to maintain a good work-life balance, stayi healthy and enjoy their time here.”

“Employing effective health and wellbeing programmes gives us the flexibility we need for continued innovation and growth.  We firmly believe that the support mechanisms and positive environment we offer help produce sustained performance from our people in return.”

HR Manager, Natalie Bushell added, “Our Health & Wellbeing initiative is one of our top business priorities and will continue to be as the benefits are evident. Within six months of running informative Healthy Advice & Activity events our absence rate has reduced by 3.4%. We could not have achieved this award without the support of our people and guidance from our local NHS Health Improvement Service.”

Chris Jones, Head of Operations at idg the Investors in People Centre for the North of England said, “This is a fantastic achievement for Phillips & Cohen Associates and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. In the current climate, investment in people and their health and wellbeing can be seen as a ‘nice to do’ but Phillips & Cohen Associates has shown that embedding these focus areas into business strategy can bring about vital performance improvement in challenging times. Achieving Investors in People Gold accreditation as well as the Health & Wellbeing Good Practice Award is testament to their commitment to continuous improvement”
