CHAMPLIN, Minn. -- Staff members of Summit A•R stuffed 1,054 Christmas stockings at CROSS Food Shelf’s annual Holiday Toy Shoppe this past Saturday as a part of their ongoing commitment to volunteering and community outreach. Summit’s Director of Human Resources, Toni Olson, led the staff during this event, as well as dedicating her personal time with CROSS as a member of the Board of Directors and past Board Chair. The Holiday Toy Shoppe, done every year before Christmas, allows parents in need to pick out donated gifts and stockings for their children to receive on Christmas.

Over $100,000 was donated in toys and supplies in order to make this event a success. Tim Turner, the president of Summit A•R spoke highly of the event saying “Everyone needs a little help at some point in their lives and it’s heartwarming to see what a difference can be made.” Turner continued, “We are grateful to have this opportunity to give back just a little bit to our community and I’m so proud of our staff… it’s so rewarding to know the time spent helping out on Saturday directly influenced Christmas morning for children in our area.”

CROSS will be celebrating 40 years of service to the community in 2017.  Wholly supported by grants and donations from the community, this program is just one of many who pledge to provide assistance to families.  For more information, visit CROSS Services online: www.CROSSservices.org
