FCC Issues Order Limiting Call Volumes Permitted Under TCPA Exemptions

Just before the new year, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued a critical report and order implementing section 8 of the TRACED Act—specifically, the FCC has reviewed all of its previous content-specific exemptions under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) to provide the additional findings Congress required. Most importantly the FCC limited the call volumes permitted under four commonly-used exemptions, including a limit on call made to residential lines using an artificial or pre-recorded voice.
