COLUMBUS, OH – Citi Cards today announced the expansion of its site in Columbus, Ohio, with the addition of up to 250 jobs and expanded servicing of multiple Citigroup businesses. The 80,000 square foot expansion of the site at 1500 Boltonfield Street will begin this month and is scheduled for completion in September.

“We are very excited about expanding our Columbus operations,” said site president Gary Herzfeld. “This is a great community and one where we believe we can grow to most effectively meet the needs of several Citigroup businesses and our customers. As a result of this expansion, we expect to hire 250 more people by October bringing our site to almost 600 employees. The services these employees will handle triple our current payment volume and substantially increase our statement volume as well. It’s a core competency of Citigroup to grow in a cost-efficient and customer-focused way. This expansion is a good example of that.”

The expanded site will handle remittance processing and statement printing and mailing for the Citi Cards bankcard, retail card and oil card portfolios, and will also perform related work for CitiFinancial and CitiMortgage.

The new facility, developed by The Daimler Group, will take several months to complete. Citigroup has also extended its lease of the facility to 2015.
