Freddie Mac received the largest fine ever levied in Federal Election Commission history, according to a story filed by MarketWatch today. The $3.8 million judgment will settle charges that it broke federal election laws by hosting political fundraisers.



Freddie Mac management has taken the agreement in stride. ?The settlement announced today is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to put behind us regulatory and legal issues dating back to 2003 and earlier,” said Freddie Mac spokesman David Palombi.
