A U.S. House subcommittee has delayed a planned session to consider legislation to curb predatory mortgage lending, according to Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-AL), chairman of House Financial Services Committee’s subcommittee. The session was orinigally scheduled for March 29.
Bachus said more time was needed to review and draft an appropriate bill.
The subcommittee had been working on legislation patterned after a North Carolina bill seen by some as one of the strongest state bills addressing predatory lending.
