Japan’s state-backed debt collection agency filed a lawsuit seeking recovery of billions of yen (millions of dollars) in bad debt from a North Korean group based in Japan, an agency official said Tuesday.


The Resolution and Collection Corp. filed a civil lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court earlier Tuesday to demand the Tokyo-based General Association of Korean Residents, an agency spokesman said on condition of anonymity, citing organizational policy.
