XGear Technologies Inc., a provider of Internet-based ASP practice management solutions for the healthcare industry, announced the name change of their software product ClaimGear to CollaborateMD. The company changed to a name that better describes the vision of the organization and incorporates their new slogan, “Helping Health Care Act As One.”

“The vision for our software and company is to have physicians, insurance payers, patients, medical billing services, and basically any company in the health care space collaborate as one by utilizing the Internet,” commented Douglas Kegler, Chief Executive Officer of CollaborateMD.

When the company began in 1999 the software name was ClaimGear because it basically allowed practices and medical billing services to manage claims, payments and submit claims electronically over the Internet. Since then, the software has become one of the leading Internet-based practice management and medical billing software packages available today. The company’s rapid growth can be attributed to leading-edge improvements to the software, affordable pricing, and great customer support.

The name CollaborateMD is also a DBA for the company name XGear Technologies and from this point forward the organization will be using CollaborateMD for all aspects of business.
