MoneyGram International announced today that it has appointed Mubashar Hameed as executive vice president and chief information officer. Hameed will report to Tony Ryan, executive vice president and chief operating officer and will serve as a member of the company’s senior leadership team.

Hameed has over 20 years of experience in information technology and business process re-engineering in several industries including financial services. He has a proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale digitization initiatives and building robust products while optimizing technology footprint and driving strong governance discipline.

“Mubashar’s extensive background in financial services technology will be instrumental in helping MoneyGram leverage its investment in innovation, drive efficiencies and improve our customer and agent experience,” said Ryan.

Hameed will lead MoneyGram’s business technology and information technology teams worldwide in delivering product and infrastructure solutions to the company.

Hameed joins MoneyGram after founding FuzionOne, an IT consulting firm. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president and CIO at Fiserv Output Solutions. Previously, Hameed spent 10 years with General Electric, where he held the positions of CIO at Security and Aero Energy businesses, and served as Chief Software Technology Officer at Commercial Finance division.

He holds an MBA and BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University.
