The DBA International (DBA) Board of Directors has appointed Professor Todd J. Zywicki as the consumer representative to the Debt Buyer Certification Council. The Certification Council is responsible for the administration of DBA’s recently launched national Debt Buyer Certification Program.

Prof. Zywicki teaches Bankruptcy, Contracts, Commercial Law, Business Associations, and Law & Economics at George Mason University School of Law and is a frequent commentator on legal issues in the print and broadcast media. Zywicki formerly served as Director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

Rich Munroe, President of the Board of Directors, stated “The DBA Board is excited to welcome an individual with the caliber and experience of Professor Zywicki to the Certification Council. His background in business and consumer related subjects will provide an invaluable perspective to the Council in its governance of the national certification program.”

Stacey Schacter who serves as Chair of the Debt Buyer Certification Council adds that “Professor Zywicki’s addition to the Council is well timed to coincide with the upcoming annual review of the certification standards. Having the perspective of a former FTC Director will help DBA in its efforts to get additional non-industry and consumer related perspectives immersed in this dialogue.”
