Karen has focused her career on operations improvement and is highly regarded for her ability to capture and retain executive sponsorship throughout the life cycle of complex projects. She has widespread experience in leading large-scale, technology enabled process change and leveraged that experience to build the cost-benefit frameworks and tools used by Worldzen teams.

Karen has extensive experience in many areas of large-scale corporate banking, including commercial lending operations, agency and investor services, and corporate finance. She has also led the redesign of insurance brokerage operations, medical malpractice insurance processes and manufacturing customer service.

Prior to co-founding Worldzen, Karen Powell was a Senior Vice President at Keane Consulting Group. She also served as Vice President of the U.S. Corporate Banking Group of Bank of America and was the Vice President and Manager of Agency & Investor Services for Continental Bank, which later was acquired by Bank of America.

Ms. Powell holds a M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. She successfully completed the Corporate Lending Training Program at Continental Bank. Ms. Powell received a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb.
