James Cornell, CEO of the Lowell Group, a Leeds, UK-based debt purchasing specialist, has been named one of most successful young business leaders in the Yorkshire region.

He has won the title of Yorkshire & Humber Young Director of the Year 2007 in the Institute of Directors annual awards, which celebrate the achievements of the region’s most hard-working and innovative business people.

James Cornell was just 31 when in May 2004, together with operations director Andrew Bartle, he restructured Premier Seekers, a tracing company, into the Lowell Group with the intention of expanding it into debt purchasing.

Three years on Lowell Group, with over $100.9 million in revenues, 300 employees and an impressive client list is already ranked as one of the worlds leading debt purchasers.

Commenting on the award, James Cornell said: “This award reflects the success of Lowell Group and that is down to everyone in the business, not just me. We have a fantastic team, who have worked extremely hard to get the business where it is today and they all deserve to share in this award.”
