Genpact (NYSE: G), which manages business processes for companies around the world, yesterday announced that it has been ranked as the Company of the Year at the Indiatimes BPO Industry Awards recently held in New Delhi. In addition, Genpact President and CEO Pramod Bhasin received the prestigious award for CEO of the Year to recognize his contribution to the BPO industry and in leading Genpact to the position that it holds today.

In its second year, Indiatimes BPO Awards is a one-of-its-kind industry platform in India that endeavors to recognize professionals and organizations for their excellence and outstanding achievements in the field of business process outsourcing. Instituted by Indiatimes, publisher of the Times of India and the Economic Times, the complete data collection and analysis process was administered by QAI, while PricewaterhouseCoopers was the process auditor. This year’s jury was comprised of Raman Roy (Chairman & Managing Director, Quatrro BPO Solutions (P) Ltd.), Pradeep Gupta (Chairman & Managing Director, Cyber Media) and Rajrishi Singhal (Consulting Editor, The Economic Times).

Speaking on this achievement, Genpact Executive Vice President VN (Tiger) Tyagarajan said, "We are extremely pleased to receive these high honors at this year’s Indiatimes BPO Awards. The recognition Genpact is getting in the marketplace in so many countries where we operate is testimony to the hard work and dedication of all our employees across the globe."

Genpact was a nominee in three other categories – ‘Most Admired Company to Work For’, ‘Operational Excellence & Quality’ and ‘Technology’. However, the Company of the Year award precludes winning in any other categories. Last year, Genpact was awarded the ‘Most Admired Company to Work for’ and also received the ‘Technology Award’.
