Cincinnati-based Integra Professional Services (IPS), one of the area’s largest providers of medical billing services and IT solutions to small and medium-sized physician practices, has acquired Brandywine Medical Management, a provider of such services to over 100 physicians in the Wilmington, Delaware region. The acquisition will increase the number of practices served by IPS to over 80, and will add a sixth customer support location to its rapidly growing operations.

IPS provides hosted practice management solutions and full-service billing and collection services to small and medium-sized practices through offices located in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Kentucky. The IPS business model accelerates collections, maximizes revenue, and documents its results with comprehensive reporting to its specialty, primary care, and FQHC provider customers by combining innovative software technology with operational efficiencies.

Brandywine Medical Management is a provider of billing services to provider groups in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Providers utilize sophisticated practice management and Electronic Health Record software and support services through Brandywine. Anthony Alfieri, a cardiologist in Wilmington and the owner of Brandywine, commented, "I am impressed with the breadth of the technology and claims management solutions IPS provides to physician practices to help them better meet the challenges facing healthcare providers, and am pleased with their commitment to expand the company’s east coast operations."

Dr. Alfieri experienced first-hand in his own practice the complexity of the business and technology requirements needed to navigate billing and compliance with multiple insurance carriers. This common challenge inspired him to create a business model to provide cost-effective practice management systems with complementary outsourced billing and revenue management services to the physician community.

"We are excited about this opportunity to continue and enhance the fine service Brandywine has provided to the local medical community," said Kathy Lutz, Chief Executive Officer of IPS. "Brandywine’s established technology and service solutions align well with the best-of-class service and support we currently provide to our client base. The addition of IPS’s experience and multiple practice management solutions will enhance the level of service provided to Brandywine customers and will provide a strong platform to serve other small and mid-sized practices in this region that want to focus on exceptional clinical care rather than back office functions."
