Those who can’t make the Healthcare Financial Management Association 2008 ANI Healthcare Financial Conference in Las Vegas can participate by purchasing live audio webcasts. The conference began Monday and continues through Thursday at Mandalay Resort and Casino.

HFMA is offering six Webcasts – two each day, with three scheduled for 10 a.m. Pacific time and three offered at 2:30 p.m. Pacific time. The Webcasts include:

  • Physician Transactions and Fair Market Value: Case Studies in Physician Compensation (June 24)
  • Redefining Revenue Cycle Performance Metrics: CHRISTUS Health Case Study (June 24)
  • Impact of 2008 Elections on Healthcare Providers (June 25)
  • Competing in Outpatient Arena: A Panel’s Look at Key Trends, Strategies and Experiences (June 25 )
  • Denials Management: Optimizing Reimbursement Through Collaboration (June 26)
  • Accelerating, Standardizing and Improving AR Reserve Estimation: Catholic Healthcare Partners Case Study (June 26).

HFMA spokesman David Opon said each Webcast is geared towards a specific audience. Listeners can click any of the Webcasts links to get a general overview of the topic, a description of who would benefit from the session and how. “The whole idea is for people to make sure they are paying for a webcast that’s beneficial to them,” Opon said.

Listeners can register online by going to www.hfma.org/events/webcasts, or by calling 800-252-4362, ext 2. Online registers should do so at least 24 hours in advance to guarantee participation. Those registering by phone for the morning webcasts may do so up until the start of the Webcast. If registering by phone for an afternoon Webcast, you must do so by 3 p.m. Central to guarantee participation, Opon said.
