Accuro Healthcare Solutions (Accuro) today announced that it secured new contracts during the first three quarters of 2006 to help more than 200 facilities streamline revenue management, increase patient satisfaction and optimize operating margins.

Accuro deployed its revenue management software solutions to healthcare providers across the nation, ranging from the 90-bed Ridgeview Medical Center and the Ridgeview Clinics in Waconia, Minn., to a 400-bed Cooper Health System facility in Camden, N.J., and AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, a 567-bed teaching hospital with campuses in Atlantic City and Pomona, N.J.

“Accuro’s suite of products creates and leverages synergies among revenue accuracy, revenue enhancement and revenue intelligence,” Brent McCarty, Accuro president, said.

For example, Accuro’s Web-based coding technology helps ensure the coding accuracy of claims, which reduces denials and decreases accounts receivable. “Results from Denials Manager were immediate. Within two weeks the software was in place, staff was trained and we were handling denials more efficiently,” said Karen Dostart, manager of patient account services at Marshall Medical Center, a 105-bed hospital in Placerville, Calif.

Workbench, the company’s contract modeling tool, lets providers instantly evaluate the financial impact of even the most complex contracts. “Workbench enables us to model proposed contract terms faster and with far greater precision. It helps flesh out the previously unforeseen pitfalls of subtle changes in contract terms,” said Mike Rose, vice president of finance and operations of Cooper Health System. “This tool paid for itself several times over the very first time we introduced it to the contract negotiation process.”
