PeopleSupport Expands its BPO Services to Support the Spanish Language Market

PeopleSupport, Inc., a leading business process outsourcing (BPO) provider that offers customer management, transcription, captioning, accounts receivable management and additional BPO services, today announced that it is expanding its operations to provide customer management services in Spanish to a new Fortune 500 client. PeopleSupport intends to provide Spanish and bilingual customer management services from its new facilities in Costa Rica. The company plans to build a state-of-the-art BPO facility in San Jose, Costa Rica, and use PeopleSupport’s proven service delivery platform to expand its operations to this new geography. The new facilities are approximately 34,000 square feet and could support up to 500 seats. PeopleSupport will provide Spanish support for a new Fortune 500 client from its new Costa Rica facility, which is scheduled to open at the end of March, as well as in English from its existing world-class facilities in the Philippines. “This new client relationship for PeopleSupport will enable the company to expand its operations to Costa Rica, where we see excellent potential to offer Spanish and bilingual BPO services,” said Lance Rosenzweig, PeopleSupport’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “In addition to supporting a new client in Costa Rica, our existing clients have shown interest in geographic diversification. Costa Rica offers an educated, Spanish and English-speaking workforce at reasonable wages, and we believe our new capabilities in Costa Rica will be very complementary to our operations in the Philippines.”
