Ontario Systems has launched FACS Claims Manager™, a HIPAA-compatible receivables management solution designed to collect healthcare accounts. This new product is compatible with the standard transactions and code sets as defined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 to provide governmental, commercial and self-pay receivables follow-up functionality to healthcare providers, hospital-owned agencies, collection agencies and outsourcers.

?Ontario Systems is pleased to offer its clients a timely response to HIPAA,? said Steve Gerow, Ontario Systems? vice president, application development. ?While many in the healthcare industry have filed for an extension, Ontario Systems? users can respond to HIPAA requirements today. We recognize our clients? market leading positions and diligently work to provide them the technology they need to continue to lead the industry.?

The FACS Claims Manager product helps users be paid faster by facilitating payer follow-up, ensuring clean claims and managing denials. The product also improves operations by automating processes such as secondary billings and claim status requests.

The FACS Claims Manager product empowers users to process HIPAA-compatible transactions for insurance claims (837 Institutional, 837 Professional), payment/advice (835), and claim status request and response (276/277). While supporting these new transactions, support for UB92 and HCFA1500 claims is maintained.

By building on the comprehensive strengths of the FACS® system in the new era of HIPAA, FACS Claims Manager positions users to take full advantage of current and emerging opportunities in the world of healthcare receivables.
