Minneapolis, MN ? UniversalSystems today announced Privacy Navigator(SM) a service designed to identify and defeat call blocking technologies. Privacy Navigator(SM) performs phone number validation and Right Party Contact distribution where call blocking technologies previously blocked calls. Based on our analysis, 10% to 19% of all numbers dialed in a collection campaign result in blocked calls. Privacy Navigator(SM) enables call centers to contact customers using call blockers, in some cases for the first time.

UniversalSystems has conducted a study on the extent of the use of call blocker technologies for various delinquency buckets. The patented technology embodied within Privacy Navigator(SM) allows a UniversalSystems agent to identify and navigate through call blocked numbers. Universalsystems has established baseline data that demonstrates the extent of call blockers. Our results show that in at least 10% of the collection calls made by a dialer, either a message would have played to no benefit, or the telephone number is likely to have been removed from the dialer?s download by the host system.

Blake Rice, founder and CEO of UniversalSystems commented ?We have been considering the issue of call blockers for some time but there were no real statistics available to draw any conclusions on the magnitude the problem posed for the industry. By applying techniques developed for the UniversalSystems™ Accelerator and its outsourcing options, we were able to identify, navigate and defeat the call blockers we encountered. We discovered that 10-19% of collections calls made in pre-charge off campaigns were coming up against the various call blocking technologies . The implication of this statistic is that more than 10% of the customer?s who had fallen into delinquency bucket one would never be contacted through a dialer campaign unless the call blocking technology was identified and negated. I believe that Privacy Navigator will become an important tool to any outbound call center, and an essential one for those involved in collections.?

About the UniversalSystems™ Accelerator
The UniversalSystems™ Accelerator is a technology and service that dramatically increases productivity within an outbound call center. By splitting an agent population into Operators and Collectors, and by using the Operators to screen for Right Party Connects, productivity improvements of 30 ?100% can be made. Furthermore, the deployment of this technology as an Application Service Provider (ASP) model allows fractional outsourcing of the operator staff and/or the dialing equipment itself with the result that your expert collectors deal with right parties and right parties only. Based on a cost per connect model, this service provides an immediate return on investment with no capital outlay. UniversalSystems methods and technology are protected by U.S. patent No. 6,285,752. Other U.S. and international patents pending.
