Hunter Warfield, Inc., (HWI) a firm specializing in collections and asset investigations, announced today the opening of Hunter Warfield University, a multi-faceted learning facility dedicated to the development, growth and success of its most important asset, its employees. The company selected as Dean of the university Dr. Marc Bellas, with over 20 years of success producing quantifiable results through Strategic Planning, Business Management, Marketing, Sales, Training and Development, and Human Resources. Dr. Bellas holds a BA and MBA in Management and Administration, as well as a PhD in Business Management. ?My job is to direct the ?human? side of the business to create a learning organization where our people are our competitive advantage,? stated Dr. Bellas.

In addition to the university, Hunter Warfield launched the next evolution in modern business, ?The Human Capital Model?, a collection of best practices for recruiting, training, developing and retaining the best possible workforce. The model focuses the success of the individual vertically to the overall success of the enterprise.

From a structural standpoint, the Hunter Warfield ?Human Capital Model? requires centralized governance of all ?human? areas of the business, including Human Resources, Organizational Development, Training and Personnel Development. All of these are placed under one umbrella and one executive-level control, with all initiatives being based on the strategic and operational objectives of the organization.

?From a business standpoint, by investing in the ongoing success of our employees, we are essentially investing in the success of our clients. When our employees have gone through the training laid out in our Human Capital Model, we can be assured and our clients can be assured that the most qualified individuals are handling their accounts,? said Stephen Sobota, CEO of Hunter Warfield.

The Hunter Warfield Human Capital Model is a full lifecycle human asset optimization approach that begins with the recruiting process and leads an employee down the career path of their choosing, achieving personal goals that verticalize to organizational goals. ?We start with a multi-hurdle hiring process utilizing targeted screening, testing, and selection of potential candidates. After a candidate has been hired for any position, they are put through an on-boarding process, which occurs from the time the person is hired to the time that they are placed in their position and expected to be productive. According to Dr. Bellas, ?This is the critical step most companies miss. At Hunter Warfield, we call it NEO, New Employee Orientation. Most companies consider new employee orientation the brief encounter with the HR Department filling out paperwork. We create a smooth transition into our company by teaching the individual about our culture, our industry, the type of business we do, our goals and expectations, our various departments and people, and work flow from start to finish. From there, they are guided through a positional development process, which provides specific training for the actual job they will perform.?

The Human Capital Model goes beyond the positional development stages by providing the employee with an Individual Development Plan (IDP), a roadmap detailing the learning and performance required to reach their goals and achieve a higher level of success.

Continual growth is fostered through both formal and informal learning interventions addressing everything from management, sales, collections, to legal, client service and many others, all tailored to the Hunter Warfield culture, mission, and vision. While training is available to every employee, all front-line managers are required to be certified in communications, leadership, coaching, and personnel management. Required training for the sales staff includes basic sales, commercial selling, consumer selling, and negotiation.

?One of the most important aspects of our business is the results we produce in liquidating accounts for our clients,? said Stephen Sobota. ?On the collections side of the business we now have a training specialist certified by the ACA (American Collectors Association), which is the body that governs our industry. By taking our collectors through the rigorous ACA training process, we have the ability to certify them, which demonstrates they are doing it by the book and within the laws. We?re doing it right, we?re doing it clean, we?re doing it the best it can be done. Our objective is to ensure that all of our collectors are ACA certified. It is our goal to be the greatest agency in the nation and the very best training and development of our entire staff will get us there,? noted Sobota.
