MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA – Akcelerant announces the completion of its second SAS70 Type II audit. After extensive testing completed by an industry-leading SAS70 audit firm, Akcelerant’s operational effectiveness was found to be in compliance.

Over the past year, Akcelerant has undergone significant growth and change. In February, Akcelerant successfully completed the move of its servers to Synygy, a state-of-the-art data center located in Chester, Pennsylvania. The move greatly enhanced data security and added substantial value to the SAS70 audit.

SAS 70 CPA, a licensed Certified Public Accounting Firm and one of the nation’s leading firms in this specialty, completed the audit and tested numerous controls in order to evaluate operational effectiveness. Controls tested include:  backup and recovery, computer operations, information security, data communications and disaster recovery.  In order to maintain a SAS70 Type II certification, as opposed to Type I, both the description and design of each control were evaluated. The final report showed Akcelerant to be in compliance and stated there were no relevant exceptions to any of the controls.

“Akcelerant is proud to have effectively completed its second SAS70 Type II audit. This achievement will give our customers and the marketplace confidence that our operational procedures are in compliance with some of the highest standards available today,” states Emily Steele, Chief Operating Officer at Akcelerant.

SAS70 (Statement of Auditing Standards No. 70) is a formal auditing standard designed to test the internal controls of service organizations.  It was created by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and has become increasingly more important due to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
