The Medical-Dental-Hospital Business Associates (MDHBA) presented several awards during its Reception, Silent Auction and Dinner on Friday, October 20, during its Annual Meeting at The Viceroy in Palm Springs, California.


Then MDHBA President Mike Landrum, CPBE, vice president, sales & marketing, E.A. Uffman & Associates, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, oversaw the ceremonies. During the program, MDHBA?s new officers were sworn in, and Landrum became immediate past president.


A rare occurrence and recognition took place at this year?s Annual Meeting. Glen Uffman, CPBE, president/CEO, E.A. Uffman & Associates, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was presented Honorary Life Membership by the MDBHA Board of Directors. The status was unanimously approved by the Board to recognize Uffman for his many years of service to the organization.


The Robert T. Hellrung Award was presented to two individuals: Glen Uffman, CPBE, president/CEO, E.A. Uffman & Associates, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and John Walston, CPBE, owner, J.L. Walston & Associates, Emporia, Virgina. This award recognizes individuals for their contributions to the medical economics profession and to MDHBA.


Duane Erickson, CPBE, marketing director, Credit Services of Oregon, Inc., Roseburg, Oregon, was one of two individuals to receive the 2006 President?s Award. John Boettcher, CPBE, owner, BC Services, Inc., Longmont, Colorado, was the second person to receive the award. The President?s Award is presented annually by the current MDHBA President to recognize an individual or individuals who did the most to advance MDHBA’s interests during his or her tenure as President.


Roxie Kracl, CPBE, director, Credit Bureau Services, Inc., Fremont, Nebraska, was the recipient of the 2006 Elmer Award. It is presented by the MDHBA Past President’s Council to the Association member who has made the most significant contribution to MDHBA’s organizational activities.
