MiraMed Global Services, Inc. (MiraMed) has added three healthcare industry professionals to its leadership team. Joe Miserendino will serve as Executive Vice President of Sales, Erik Hayes will take on the role of Vice President of Operations, and Sharon Hughes will work as Senior Director of Coding and Audit Services.

As Executive Vice President of Sales, Miserendino oversees all sales and sales support functions for MiraMed. With more than 20 years of healthcare industry experience, Miserendino brings MiraMed clients a wealth of experience in system conversions, accounts receivable cleanups, day one billing projects, and purchase portfolio management. Prior to joining MiraMed, Miserendino served as Sr. Vice President of Sales and Vice President of Operations for a large health receivables management company. He also has worked as Director of Business Development for two publicly traded collection agencies. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management.

In his role as Vice President of Operations, Hayes is responsible for the company’s operational and quality activities. With more than 15 years of leadership experience, Hayes has successfully streamlined operations and maximized productivity for several businesses. He most recently served as Vice President of Operations for Accretive Health, and has held leadership positions with General Electric. Hayes holds a bachelors degree in electrical engineering technology from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., and is LEAN Six Sigma GE Black Belt and Master Black Belt Certified.

As Senior Director of Coding and Audit Services, Hughes manages all coding and audit activities. Prior to joining MiraMed, Hughes held a management position in the Health Information Department at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angles, California where she provided oversight and leadership for development, implementation, and management of coding policy and procedures throughout Cedars Sinai Medical Center with over 900 beds and 150 clinics. Hughes holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Louisiana State University and a Bachelors of Science degree in health information management from University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
