Atlanta-based Ingenious Med (IM) announces new strategic partnerships with three more billing companies in the third quarter. Doctors Resource Specialists, Diablo Medical Billing, Inc., and Healthcare Business Resources, Inc. join IM’s existing group of billing companies that realize the cost savings and increased revenues associated with client usage of Ingenious Med’s IM Practice Manager. Each of these billing companies is committed to effectively managing inpatient physician practices and prefers to handle billing for groups utilizing IM’s web-based practice management system.
 
Julie Serbin, Vice President of Doctors Resource Specialists, has over 7 groups who are clients of Ingenious Med. Serbin notes that IM has helped her practice expand the reach of their services. "The information transfer is robust, yet extremely easy — you don’t have to deal with mail or faxes." Serbin’s group has expanded to additional states in what Serbin describes as a "quick and seamless effort." In describing the benefits of IM Practice Manager, she states "prior to IM Practice Manager, I would sometimes get a month’s worth of charges at a time making things extremely difficult from a management perspective. It was difficult to read physician writing, codes were duplicated or sometimes even invalid." IM Practice Manager eliminated these problems allowing DRS to dedicate fewer billing resources to process charges.

Damon Mills, Vice President of Praxis Medical Management, an existing Ingenious Med business partner, describes the partnership benefits, "One of the things we do is track the full stay of the patient. We can check charges to make sure that we have a charge for every day of stay. Ingenious Med allows us to do that by offering multiple reports, which contain the information that we need." Mills adds, "We are able to track where there are holes. Groups choosing IM Practice Manager would definitely see a decrease in denials." The use of IMBILLS has allowed Praxis Medical Management to pass along such cost savings to their customers.

Debbie Donley, General Manager at Diablo Medical Billing Inc., does the billing for Inpatient Management Medical Group, a national inpatient physician group currently using IM Practice Manager. Donley says that Ingenious Med benefits her with "tremendous time savings, in terms of data entry." Donley utilizes IM Practice Manager’s communications tools to improve her workflow, and "answer any coding or billing-related questions that the doctors may have." According to Donley, "We can provide faster turnaround with IM Practice Manager, since I can enter charges daily rather that weekly, which is what we used to do prior to Ingenious Med." In addition IM Practice Manager allows Debbie to communicate better with patients. Donley states, "If a patient has specific questions on claims, I can access the IM database to review information instantly. That’s a nice tool to have."

Sheila Rogers, Vice President of Operations of Healthcare Business Resources — a billing company serving PrimeDoc, which is a national hospitalist company who is also a client of Ingenious Med — enjoys the integration capabilities of IM Practice Manager. Rogers notes that because "all information, including demographics and charges, are downloaded into our system, Ingenious Med has eliminated the data entry step." Not only does this efficiency save time, but automatic data entry also reduces the risk of errors in bills and lost bills. Rogers states, "Ingenious Med’s bi-directional integration services allow data to flow to and from IM Practice Manager which integrates with other systems your practice must use such as hospital information systems, electronic medical records, and billing software."
