RMS, a leader in both business process outsourcing (BPO) and recovery services, is participating in the National Association of Credit Management’s (NACM) legal symposium next month through the company’s foremost Legal Expert; Steven D. Sass Esq.

NACM, in conjunction with the Commercial Law League of America’s (CLLA) eastern region member’s 87th annual meeting, is featuring the re-enactment of an actual preference trial.

Preferences are most often settled out-of-court leaving a large percentage of receivable and legal professionals unfamiliar with the trial side of this specialized area of law. Being held November 9-10, 2007 in New York City, Mr. Sass will be playing the role of one of the expert witnesses with the support of three other nationally renowned authorities on bankruptcy and preference cases. This re-enactment provides both an interactive and educational format from which attendees can learn how to be best prepared for litigation in this specialized legal area.

“Preference and bankruptcy cases continue to grow and RMS offers our customer recoveries in these areas at a lower cost and in less time than through traditional preference litigation,” said Hugh Kelly, RMS Vice-President of Recovery Services. “To that end, RMS is pleased to have on our team someone of Steven Sass’s level of national expertise in this specialized area of legal practice.”

Mr. Sass will be using his own extensive experience in both preference litigation and as an expert legal witness to play the role of one of the problem experts that was used as a witness in this actual preference trial. The program re-enactment includes breaks for regular question and answer sessions, allowing for a logical analysis of the case’s progress. Attendees participate as jurors creating an effective interactive environment.

Based in Bethlehem, Pa., RMS is a portfolio partner of Citi Venture Capital International.
