The National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA) has announced that early registration for its NARCA 2011 Fall Collection Conference will continue through September 19, 2011, after which registration will remain open but discounts will no longer apply. The conference will take place at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, October 19th through October 22nd.

“NARCA had record attendance at its Spring Collection Conference, and I’m confident that trend will continue,” said NARCA President Fred Blitt, an attorney with the Illinois-based law firm of Blitt & Gaines, P.C. “NARCA Collection Conferences provide a great setting for networking and professional education, and this has been a dynamic year in debt collection law in terms of new court decisions, rules and federal and state legislation. All of these changes and proposals have a direct relationship to NARCA’S recently-adopted Policy Positions that demonstrate its support of rules and legislation that adequately protect consumers without unduly burdening legitimate debt collection. Addressing these hot topics is a large part of what drives the exceptional attendance at NARCA Collection Conferences.”

“The NARCA Fall Collection Conference will include two full days of CLE-approved educational sessions focusing on ethics, best practices and legal and legislative updates,” explained Adam Olshan, Chair of NARCA’s State Government Affairs Committee and partner with the Connecticut-based Law Offices Howard Lee Schiff, P.C. “Staying abreast of these changes is absolutely essential for practicing attorneys. I’ve been attending NARCA conferences for 18 years, and after every conference I walk away with additional knowledge that is critical to my law practice. That, combined with the collegial setting and opportunity to network with colleagues, clients and potential clients, makes this an important event for any attorney representing creditors.”

In addition to the educational programs by nationally recognized legal experts, the conference will include a NARCA Golf Tournament, an Exhibit Hall with the latest goods and services from providers to the field of legal collections and networking receptions. The Keynote Session will feature nationally-renowned author and leadership consultant Larry Dressler who will present New Rules: The Courage to Speak, The Compassion to Listen, which focuses on how skillful communication can solve the toughest problems, promote learning and innovation, and strengthen partnerships with clients and colleagues. Louis Freedman, NARCA’s president-elect, and an attorney with the Illinois-based law firm of Freedman Anselmo Lindberg LLC, summarized what drives the popularity of NARCA Collection Conferences: “For members to have access to influential speakers of this caliber, educational resources of this depth and the camaraderie of their colleagues and clients is what makes NARCA Collection Conferences unique.”
