InCharge® Institute of America, Inc. today announced the launch of a groundbreaking new website, www.BrightScore.com. The interactive application is the only tool of its kind that is able to explain how an individual?s credit score is calculated, and offers a customized plan on how a score can be improved.

The BrightScoreTM Credit Solution was developed by InCharge® Institute of America, Inc., a national nonprofit organization with affiliates specializing in personal finance education and credit counseling. The software provides consumers with an internally generated credit score that is designed to closely correlate to other nationally recognized credit scores. Using proprietary software, BrightScore is then able to break down the score, and explain in a step-by-step action plan the specific measures that can be taken to help improve that person?s credit score.

?One of the primary goals behind designing BrightScore was to demystify the world of credit scores for the average consumer, especially those preparing for a major purchase,? noted InCharge President and CEO Robert Barrett. ?BrightScore empowers individuals and their families by helping them understand the details of their credit reports and the impact it has on lenders? decisions.?

Through a variety of educational resources and a personalized action plan, along with access to a live BrightScore counselor, users are equipped with a variety of tools to positively impact their credit worthiness and make smarter, more informed decisions with regard to their finances.

?Consumers who are proactive about their credit standing secure better loan terms, receive lower interest rates and stay protected against fraud and identity theft,? added Barrett. ?The BrightScore application provides consumers the tools to remain in charge of their existing score, and offers a basis on which to build a secure and financially sound future.?

The BrightScore Credit Solution offers:

  • A personalized overview of an individual?s credit score
  • An analysis of his/her credit report
  • An easy to understand credit report with corresponding grades for the credit score; making the BrightScore itself easier to interpret
  • A personalized action plan, with specific behavioral items ?flagged? as points upon which to improve
  • A personalized ?dispute? tool for working with credit reporting agencies to update credit inaccuracies
