The Mexican arm of financial group HSBC said on Thursday it expects to boost its profitable credit card portfolio this year by handing out plastic to more clients while keeping a lid on past-due accounts.


HSBC Mexico’s credit card portfolio should reach more than 6 billion pesos ($566 million) by year end, compared to about 5 billion pesos right now and less than 4 billion pesos at the end of last year, Rafael Arana, vice president of personal financial products, told reporters.
