MedSynergies Inc., a leading provider of healthcare revenue cycle services and technology, was selected by intensivists groups of Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, a full-service medical/surgical facility operating as a subsidiary of Orlando Regional Healthcare, to provide revenue cycle management (RCM) services and solutions through tailored applications of the company’s healthcare-focused information technology (IT) and service suite.

As the cost of quality patient care rises against declining reimbursement rates across the U.S., MedSynergies supports physicians with business and financial analysis, process improvement and integrated technology solutions to enable financial and operational stability. MedSynergies will manage billing and process claims and provide Web-enabled reporting and training for some of the intensivists groups at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, which serves the residents of southwest Orange County and Orlando’s growing tourist population.

"MedSynergies’ accurate and affordable services are exactly what we need to boost revenues and improve our bottom-line performance," said Mark Schaefer, administrator of Orlando Regional Dr. P. Phillips Hospital. "Extending this solution across specialty operations is a great business decision but, more importantly, MedSynergies will enable our physicians to focus on patient care — undoubtedly our priority as a healthcare facility."

Orlando Regional Healthcare currently uses MedSynergies’ customized RCM solutions for its orthopedic and nephrology divisions at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, a subsidiary dedicated exclusively to serving the special needs of children and women.

MedSynergies’ scalable and robust suite of medical-oriented business services provides mission-critical, tailored operations analysis, improvements and systems to enable cost and revenue improvements averaging $90,000 per physician for 26 physician specialties, from orthopedics, ophthalmology and physical rehabilitation to cardiology, pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology.

"Expanding RCM support for Orlando Regional Healthcare to include intensivists at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital emphasizes the success our customers are experiencing in operational efficiency and optimized performance, using a proven approach that transcends practice size and specialty to increase physician focus on patient care," said John R. Thomas, chief executive officer and president of MedSynergies. "We are excited to broaden our impact on stronger, healthier patient-focused healthcare in this important U.S. metropolitan area."
