Ft. Pierce, FL –   Oxford Management Services (OMS) is committed to creating positive change in our communities through the philosophy of Pay it Forward.  Based on this philosophy, our company has an established tradition of giving back to the communities where our employees live and work.  This holiday season, OMS and our employees partnered with several organizations to provide care to the people within our communities and support for our troops.

According to Peter Pinto, OMS’ President, “Our employees value the opportunity to give back to others.”  Peter Pinto also stated, “There is nothing better then seeing the smiles on peoples’ faces and the appreciation in their hearts.  I am personally honored to be surrounded by such wonderful and caring people and want to thank our team for their continued generosity in our communities."

Organizations OMS and our employees supported in 2009 include:

Gourmet Gifts for Veterans: OMS joined with New York’s renowned Junior’s Restaurant to donate 125 of their legendary cheesecakes to the VA Medical Centers in Northport, New York, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and West Palm Beach, Florida.

“Junior’s is extremely grateful to the men and women who serve stateside or overseas,” said Alan Rosen, co-owner of Junior’s, “we are honored to partner with OMS to provide them with a little taste of home with our cheesecakes, especially at holiday time when so many of our troops and veterans are away from their families.”

In addition to the cheesecakes, OMS is also donating Fretzels by Jill, delicious, hand-dipped, designer, gourmet chocolate covered pretzels to our well deserving veterans.

“The cheesecakes are a wonderful edition to the holiday meals for our hospitalized veterans,” stated Mary C. Phillips, MTRS, West Palm Beach VAMC.  “The cheesecakes, along with the Fretzels, are greatly appreciated by the veterans and the generosity of OMS and Junior’s Restaurant will certainly enhance the quality of life for America’s Heroes, our veterans who have so proudly served our country.”

Toys for Tots: OMS supported Toys for Tots once again this year.  Through the gift of a new toy, the goal of Toys for Tots is to motivate children to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.  OMS employees collected toys, books and gifts to bring to the local Marine drop off locations.  “Our employees have made this a special event for all of us and we look forward to it year after year,” Peter Pinto, commented, “Whether it is bringing in toys or other donations, everyone feels good about participating in the drive.”  To donate, please go to www.toysfortots.org

Hibiscus Children’s Center: OMS’ Fort Pierce, Florida location has partnered with the Hibiscus Children’s Center, a non-profit organization that is successfully breaking the vicious cycle of child abuse with the support of the local community.  OMS employees have adopted 40 orphans from the ages of 3 to 17 and are providing toys and games for the children to enjoy.  The Hibiscus Children’s Center serves children and families in Martin, Indian River, Okeechobee, St. Lucie and Palm Beach counties.  For more information, visit:  www.hibiscuschildrenscenter.org

Friendship House:  OMS’ Pennsylvania employees worked with the Friendship House, a non-profit organization that assists with children with learning disabilities, behavioral problems and from broken homes, to help provide them with the winter clothing.  OMS employees donated hats, mittens and scarves to the children.  For more information, go to: www.friendshiphousepa.org
