Allscripts, the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, announced multiple sales of its Practice Management (PM) solutions, helping physicians in practices across the nation become more productive while improving service to their patients.

In the first three months of 2007, dozens of medical practices of all sizes purchased the Allscripts solutions, which combine sophisticated Revenue Cycle Management and patient scheduling tools in a single package. HealthMatics(R) Ntierprise and TouchWorks(TM) PM both incorporate advanced features such as rules-based appointment scheduling, multi-resource and recurring appointment features, referral and eligibility indicators and advanced claims management.

"In today’s competitive environment, we need to find ways to reduce clinical and administrative costs while maintaining our high patient care standards, and Allscripts delivers that and more," said Dave Devalk, Chief Executive Officer of Reno Heart Physicians, in Reno, Nevada. The cardiology group is deploying TouchWorks PM to support its 18 cardiologists across three locations.

"We believe the time and cost savings that Allscripts will bring is substantial," added Bette Warn, Executive Director of ATD resources in Lakewood, CO, a company that uses HealthMatics Ntierprise to manage the billing and other back-office services for 62 physicians. "For example, we’ll be able to tell why claims were rejected and correct the claim immediately, reducing claim denials and in turn saving us manpower and costs."

To augment their Practice Management system, ATD and more than 30 other practices who selected an Allscripts solution in the first three months of 2007 added iClaim Powered by Navicure, a powerful and proactive solution for claims management that accelerates payment of claims, increases billing transparency, and helps to prevent payment denials. The comprehensive iClaim solution ensures that all levels within an organization — from billing staff to executive leadership — have tools at their fingertips to spot common sources of billing errors, identify payment trends and improve operational efficiency.

"Before we had Allscripts with iClaim, we had to sort through piles of reports sent from our claims clearinghouse to find information about reimbursement," said Jason McCafferty, Administrator of Leachman Cardiology Associates, a seven-physician Houston medical group that is deploying HealthMatics Ntierprise with iClaim. "We are convinced that Allscripts will help us reduce our rejected claims by finding the cause of claims errors and quickly correcting them before they’re submitted to the payer."
