Platinum Funding Group, a leading factoring company, today announced the appointment of Mary Ellen Nixon-Moore, 54, as vice president of underwriting. In her role, Ms. Nixon-Moore will be in charge of reviewing and underwriting new clients, handling due diligence matters, deal structuring and providing funding to clients. She will be based in the company’s headquarters in New York.

Ms. Nixon-Moore has a wide breadth of experience in the credit and factoring industry, serving clients in need of working capital. Previously, she served as a portfolio manager at Banco Popular in New York. Prior to that, she spent 13 years as a vice president at LaSalle Business Credit, Inc., where she was in charge of new business development and portfolio management. Before then, she headed the factoring division of Commercial Credit Financial Services, Inc.

"She brings years of experience to the underwriting process and the funding of small and large factoring transactions. Mary Ellen’s addition to our team will be a key element in the future growth and success of Platinum, as the company expands its portfolio of international transactions and opens new offices across the U.S."

In addition, Ms. Nixon-Moore has a strong background in the apparel industry, as well as other industries that traditionally utilize factoring, from her years in the credit unit of Barclays American Commercial. Ms. Nixon-Moore graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
