Founded in 2005 by healthcare industry veteran Tony Mira, MiraMed Global Services, Inc. has rapidly grown through a series of strategic acquisitions—and on April 5, 2007 the company launched a national branding campaign to bring these operating companies together under one cohesive brand.

By bringing these companies together under the MiraMed moniker, Mr. Mira has formed one of the largest healthcare Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies in the United States, employing more than 2,000 healthcare professionals worldwide, serving several hundred hospitals and several thousand providers nationwide while processing nearly $3 billion in payments annually.

MiraMed’s mission is to team exclusively with hospitals, health networks, physician practices and related industry service organizations to uncover hidden financial opportunities, improve productivity and increase profits. To achieve this, the company pair’s healthcare industry experts with world class processes, infrastructure and technology to deliver lasting results.

“Since our initial announcement in April, the industry has been extremely receptive to our business model. We provide healthcare organizations a business partner that really understands the very real and unique challenges of the industry," Mr. Mira said.

“We have had particularly strong interest in MMGS’s Coding Division. Through this offering of inpatient, outpatient and physician coding, we’ve enabled a number of healthcare organizations to meet and exceed their financial goals by greatly reducing overall AR time by targeting their ‘backlog’ of coding. As a result this success, we’ve recently hired 200 additional healthcare professionals to keep up with the demand.” Mira said.

With operations across the globe, MiraMed’s expertise stretches far and runs deep, providing healthcare organizations an unparalleled reservoir of industry knowledge, creative blended shore solutions and most importantly measurable results. In addition, MiraMed’s proprietary open architecture technology narrows transition and implementation times down 30-70% compared to the competition.

“We work with each client to tailor solutions to their specific needs. Whether they need help with a short-term, targeted revenue cycle assignment or a long-term, complete outsourced solution, we bring our healthcare industry expertise and global resources to bear—to get quantifiable results,” Mr. Mira said.
