A growing credit card servicing company will be the first tenant in a 45-acre office park being developed in southwest Sioux Falls, SD.

Total Card Inc., which markets and services Visa and Mastercard accounts for four banks, will combine its two current locations into one 71,900-square-foot building along Interstate 29 on South Broadband Lane, west of PrairieWave Communications.

The company has 275 employees in Sioux Falls who work in leased space at the Western Mall and in a retail center on West 41st Street between Shopko and Hobby Lobby. The two current sites have a total of 43,000 square feet.

The company doubled its work force from 50 to more than 100 in January 2003 when it acquired accounts from The Credit Store Inc. after its bankruptcy.

As the banks it contracts with continue to add accounts, Total Card also is marketing its own cards and in February started a third-party collection agency called Total Recovery.

In addition to its two locations in Sioux Falls, the company in 2004 bought a 30,200-square-foot building in Luverne, Minn., and now has 125 employees there.
