$218 trillion is a lot of calls to mom.

A Malaysian man reported to the Associated Press Monday that he received a $218 trillion phone bill, and was ordered by Telekom Malaysia to pay up or face the consequences, which could include prosecution.

After the death of his father, Yahaya Wahab disconnected his father’s phone line, settling the 84 ringgit ($23 US) phone bill. Telekom Malaysia followed up the 84 ringgit bill with a subsequent one to the amount of 806,400,000,000,000 ringgits, or $218 trillion. Take a moment to let all those zeroes sink in. It still isn’t clear if the total is due to a computer error, or if the phone line was used illegally after death.

Yahaya had already been contacted by a collection agency prior to receiving the new bill.
