Collection Advisor magazine has announced its selection of the 50 Most Influential Professionals in the Collection Industry for 2006. For the second year in a row, the principals of Bethesda-based Kaulkin Ginsberg Company are among the honorees.


Marvin Kaulkin, Founder & Chairman, and Mike Ginsberg, President & CEO, were nominated by their peers for their years of leadership and insight, and represent the best of the best in the industry. “On behalf of the magazine, we are very pleased to bestow this honor on these very worthy professionals,” said Collection Advisor Editor/Publisher T. Allen Rose. Profiles of Mr. Kaulkin and Mr. Ginsberg will be featured in the magazine’s January/February 2007 issue.


Marvin Kaulkin founded Kaulkin Ginsberg Company in 1989 as a middle market mergers and acquisitions advisory firm. He has held leadership positions in many industry associations, including Institute of Merger and Acquisition Professionals (IMAP), the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), and the American Collectors Association (ACA). Marvin is considered an expert in the field of middle market mergers and acquisitions, and has authored many articles on this activity and on the affairs of the debt collection industry.


Mike Ginsberg spearheads all of the firm’s advisory business practices, directing a team of professionals that has completed over 110 transactions ranging from minority sales to complete buyouts. Mike has served as a board member of IMAP, and also holds membership in the ACG and the ACA. He is a frequent speaker at industry events, and is often interviewed as an industry expert by the trade, financial, and consumer media, including M&A, The Dealmaker?s Journal, “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams,” The Washington Post, and BusinessWeek. In 2005, Mr. Ginsberg was named a finalist for ?Investment Banker Dealmaker of the Year? by the ACG National Capital chapter.


“It’s wonderful to receive such recognition from the industry,” noted Mr. Ginsberg. “The collection industry doesn’t get kudos in the mainstream very often, so I applaud Collection Advisor for taking the initiative in celebrating accomplishment.”


This is the second year the magazine bestowed an honor of this kind on members of the collection profession. Award recipients were announced at Collection Advisor ‘s TECH’06 conference, held December 7-8 in Las Vegas.
