To celebrate the firm’s national certification as a woman-owned business, The Judgment Group, Maryland’s leading professional judgment enforcement firm, announced today that the firm is partnering with Smart Girls Rock to launch The Smart Girls Scholars Program.  The program will award 529 College Savings Plan Scholarships in the amount of $1000 each to deserving Smart Girls.

The Judgment Group received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the nation’s leading third-party certifier.  WBENC’s meticulous certification process included an in-depth review of the business as well as an on-site inspection.

“It hasn’t been an easy eight years,” says Susan Wilson, Founder and Managing Partner of The Judgment Group.  “Building a business is hard.  I sold my house to fund the company.  But I knew if I raised venture capital earlier, I’d have to give up control – probably to a man.  So I’m particularly proud of this certification.  Our solution is unsurpassed.  And it’s great to honor the achievement by partnering with Smart Girls Rock.”

An online community for girls who will change our world and those who cheer them on, Smart Girls Rock (SGR) is the brainchild of Dayna Steele, the legendary Houston rock and roll radio personality.  Nominated by Billboard Magazine for Radio Personality of the Year, Steele explains, “So many girls limit their choices.  Parents don’t teach them that they actually have a better chance of becoming an astronaut than a princess.”
