Aspen National Collections, one of the timeshare/shared ownership industry’s best respected collection agencies, announced recently that a member of their senior staff, Buzz Waloch, has been appointed to serve on the board of a non-profit organization benefiting breast cancer survivors.

Send Me On Vacation (SMOV)’s mission is “to provide a much needed vacation to celebrate life for women with breast cancer who have completed their treatments and need a place to rejuvenate and heal their body, mind and spirit.”

“We tapped Buzz not only because of his genuine care for women who have gone through this onerous and dreadful process, but also we are excited that he has so many deep relationships among resort operators throughout the timeshare industry,” says SMOV founder and chair Cathy Backus. “Since our organization relies on resorts’ donating free vacations at their locations, he will certainly be able to assist us in obtaining pledges. We’ve known Buzz for many years as a genuine and trustworthy person. He is going to be a great addition to help guide and direct our organization.”

Waloch commented, “I am honored to have been chosen to serve on the Board of this very worthwhile organization. I have already found there to be a strong ‘can-do’ spirit on SMOV’s team. If we can make life a little more pleasant for a handful of women this year as SMOV is being launched, I think we will be very pleased. And eventually, we’re hoping to be able to send dozens and dozens of women and their families on all-expenses-paid holidays to some of the world’s most fascinating and entertaining venues.”

“Many women who have experienced breast cancer treatments will tell you that when the physical aspects of the battle end, the emotional struggles begin,” said Backus. “The emotional strain combined with the adverse effects of treatments can leave women and their families in shambles. As a patient goes through Breast Cancer treatment, it’s easy to become both overwhelmed and overstressed. Stress left untreated can destroy relationships, jobs and lives. Our mandate is to provide those who have survived breast cancer and its debilitating aftermath with a well-deserved vacation.”
