Dallas – The opportunity to take advantage of 24/7 cardholder service, a robust processing platform, and card experts who can help drive and manage a card program led the $352 million Chetco Federal Credit Union to consolidate its entire credit and debit card programs with TNB Card Services.

The Oregon-based credit union will move the process and servicing of its $4.7 million credit card portfolio, 12,000 PIN and signature debit card accounts, as well as its ATM terminal driving to TNB. As part of the agreement, TNB will assume management of all back office card operations, including chargebacks, call center support, and fraud.

TNB’s portfolio consultants will work with Chetco to analyze and restructure its credit card program so it can better establish pricing strategies and offer more competitive products to its membership base.

“Consolidating our card processing with TNB will ensure parity for the service our cardholders receive for these products,” said Stanley Baron, president and CEO of Chetco Federal Credit Union. “TNB’s platform will also give us the ability to restructure the program in order to drive usage and acquire new cardholders. Our cardholders will also receive greater card benefits, such as relationship and risk-based pricing and rewards.”

Baron added, “We talked to several card processors. TNB stood out because it operates in the trenches like us. TNB doesn’t just process cards; it owns and manages a multi-million dollar card portfolio, so it has the expertise, tools, and capabilities to help us achieve our goals.”

Chetco Federal Credit Union serves the “border coast region” of southern Oregon, which includes Curry and Coos counties and the county of Del Norte in California. The credit union was established in 1957 and has nine branches.
