NEW YORK — Customers of SunGard‘s AvantGard treasury solutions have been recognized by Treasury Today’s Adam Smith Awards for demonstrating tangible results due to their implementation of information technology. SunGard customers recognized include Alcatel Lucent, Honeywell and Randstad Pty Ltd. Honeywell received the highest honor of "Treasury Today’s Top Treasury Team – an Award for overall excellence."

The Adam Smith Awards are intended to recognize outstanding achievement in solutions that have been implemented, or are in the process of being implemented, within the corporate treasury, receivables or payments environment. "The judging criteria for these awards are tough and the competition is extremely strong. Winning entries needed to demonstrate tangible results in the form of cost savings and above average ROI, through to exceptional implementation and quantitative improvements in efficiency. To win an award is therefore a significant accolade for the winner and the supplier they are working in partnership with," said Richard Parkinson managing director of Treasury Today.

"AvantGard Payments has played a large role in helping us achieve this recognition, as this solution has aided us in reducing costs and improving compliance through the global centralization of payment processing," said Xavier Horseau treasury information system and back-office director at Alcatel-Lucent.

Erin O’Brien, group manager of payables and receivables at Randstad, said, "We are honored to have received the Treasury Today Adam Smith Award. As soon as we implemented SunGard’s AvantGard for receivables management we were measuring positive results. We are thrilled that our success in optimizing order-to-cash processes within our shared service center’s A/R department has been recognized."

Ken Dummitt, president of SunGard’s corporations business, said, "We are pleased that so many AvantGard customers have received accolades in the Adam Smith Awards, as it exemplifies our ongoing commitment to delivering solutions that combine technology with best practice consulting and support services. Furthermore, this recognition serves as affirmation that SunGard solutions are flexible and robust enough to support the weight and diversity of organizations doing business within a truly global ecosystem."
