Tony L’Abbate has over 20 years experience in credit and collections management.  His diversified background in working for creditors, a debt buyer and a collection agency provides a unique perspective in managing the collection cycle.

In his role as Sales Executive for CardWorks Servicing, Tony has expanded CardWorks third party collection agency business.

CardWorks is the largest privately held provider of bankcard servicing in the United States, with a presence in Canada.  CardWorks provides full and niche servicing support, including collections and recoveries, for some of the top 100 issuers. Tony is responsible for expanding Cardwork’s national collection agency business supported by state of the art technology and an experienced collection team.

Tony was Senior Vice President for Acquisitions and Business Development at Hudson & Keyse,LLC.  Hudson & Keyse is a purchaser of bad debt charge-offs.  Tony’s responsibilities included purchasing charged-off portfolios from credit issuers and credit unions, developing new market potentials, managing marketing and supporting re-sell, operations and legal strategy functions.  

At Chase Card Services Tony was the Collections and Recoveries Executive. During his eight years at Chase Card Services, Tony’s scope of responsibilities included site operations, collections pre and post charge-off strategy, compliance and risk control, capacity planning, product management, agency management, debt sales management, legal network management, consumer credit counseling and other financial and analytical areas. Under Tony’s leadership, Chase collections utilized Six Sigma and other cost saving programs to reduce collections expenses. Tony’s scope of responsibility covered multiple operating sites and significant staff.

Prior to Chase, Tony spent eleven years at Citibank in diverse credit card related areas beginning his credit card responsibilities as controller in collections, then managing nationwide collection expenses, serving as chief of staff for the Collections and Service Quality Director, managing Citi’s card member benefits area and in his last six years responsible for new business fraud loss prevention for the credit card and retail bank.
