Consumer complaints against debt collectors have risen almost 8,000 from last year, and account for 19.1 per cent of all complaints filed with the FCC, according to a story in the Kansas City Star.


Last year, consumers filed 66,627 complaints against third-party debt collectors — up from 2004′s 58,698.
