The founder and president of a Denver collection agency was found dead in his home late Monday. The Denver Post reported yesterday that John ?J.P.? Kelso had died of bullet wounds.


Denver police verified the name of the victim this morning and the case is being investigated as a homicide. Kelso was found by a housekeeper at around 9pm Monday.


Kelso co-founded collection firm Professional Recovery Systems (PRS) in 1996. The firmed employs around 50 in Denver.


A business associate of Kelso?s, PRS SVP John Sawyer, told the Denver Post yesterday, “We don’t have any idea who may have done this. Obviously it has a big impact. We’re in shock here.”
