Louisville, Ky. – MedAssist, Incorporated, a Firstsource company and leader in revenue cycle management solutions, announced today the company has completed its requirements to become a U.S. General Service Administration (GSA) contractor under the Multiple Award Schedule (MAS).

GSA serves as the federal government’s premier acquisition agency with the mission to help other government agencies better serve the public by meeting, at best value, their needs for products and services, and to simplify citizen access to government information and services. GSA’s Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) is the premier commercial acquisition vehicle program within the federal government allowing government agencies to place orders directly with MAS contractors, eliminating the need for interagency agreements.

GSA promotes management best practices and efficient government operations which facilitates government agencies access to a list of pre-approved providers of supplies and services.

As an MAS-qualified contractor, MedAssist will be able to execute service contracts in direct response to federal government agency solicitations.

MedAssist’s successful track record of providing revenue cycle management solutions to more than 1,000 private sector clients nationwide will now be available to government entities with access to the GSA list of pre-approved contractors.

“Amid the pending healthcare reform, specific mandates will likely impact the government’s entities that provide health services such as the Veterans’ Administration, which is already the largest healthcare provider in the U.S.,” said Michael Shea, president of global healthcare solutions and CEO of North America for MedAssist. “The ability for government operated healthcare providers to partner with an organization that holds this status will be vital as they seek to streamline revenue cycle management, treat patients with the utmost care and maximize efficiencies of operations.”
