Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is set to reveal legislation today that will aim to reduce what she calls abusive collection practices for past-due hospital bills, according to Crain’s Chicago Business. The two bills will be unveiled at a press conference scheduled for noon Central time on Monday.
The bills’ intended effect is to help low income and uninsured patients with outstanding hospital bills. Little else is known about the legislation, according to the article.
