Unemployed for two years, Erica Couts of North Hollywood finally landed a job and started back to work Monday at Washington Mutual’s call center. It was only a temporary job – and now she knows just how temporary.

Thursday, the banking institution announced it will eliminate 1,000 of its 3,000 positions at the Chatsworth facility and move the jobs to Costa Rica and San Antonio, Texas, where costs are lower.
