Pair accused of lying about unserved papers

A Baltimore County father/son team has been indicted on perjury and conspiracy charges, according to the Baltimore Sun?s ?Baltimore County Digest.? Authorities claim that the pair lied about serving hundreds of defendants in civil proceedings.

The duo ? father Brian Fitzgerald, 70, and son Kevin Fitzgerald, 44 ? are owners of Patrick Investigations Inc, a collection agency in Timonium, MD. Authorities allege that the Fitzgeralds filed fraudulent affidavits of service ? affidavits that had not, in fact, been served to the debtors. This allowed for courts to find no-show judgments against civil defendants.

The men were indicted late Monday; an arraignment date has yet to be set.
