Oxford Management Services (OMS) is proud to announce it has been awarded a collection contract from the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA).

NYCHA is the largest public housing authority in North America, providing decent and affordable housing in a safe and secure living environment for low- and moderate-income residents throughout the five boroughs of New York.  NYCHA operates 179,025 apartments in 344 developments throughout New York City in 2,686 residential buildings.  The Authority employs 13,600 people who serve about 175,108 families and approximately 412,281 authorized residents—or nearly 1 in every 20 New Yorkers.

Under terms of the contract, OMS will provide third-party collection services to NYCHA for claims and judgments against current or former NYCHA tenants, both residential and commercial, and current or former Section 8 landlords, as well as miscellaneous collection matters related to contractors and former NYCHA employees.  The base contract is for two years.

To be selected for the contract, OMS had to demonstrate to NYCHA that it had the capacity, qualifications, and financial stability to take on such a high-profile client in the public sector, while submitting a competitive fee.  Selection by NYCHA indicates OMS’ overall high level of quality of service available to government and private sector creditors alike.

Peter Pinto, President of OMS, commented, “It is an honor that NYCHA has entrusted OMS to service their accounts.  We take pride in this honor and we are committed to a successful partnership with NYCHA. We are looking forward to providing the same commitment and dedication to NYCHA we provide to our other partners.” Added Charles Harris, Executive Vice President, “OMS is excited about this opportunity afforded by NYCHA.  We are confident our team will surpass NYCHA’s performance and service requirements.”
